Broken Down Parlor

This was a very interesting custom order.  The client wanted a set of slightly mismatched furniture that would give the impression that it had once been in a fine Victorian home but over time had been worn, torn, and repaired.  So I banged up a couple of chairs and a sofa and then picked out a batik that looks water stained and dirty.  I cut some small patches for it to give the appearance of holes that had been repaired and for a finishing touch, I whacked off a sofa leg and stuck an old kitchen pot under it.  It's not the kind of furniture that you see in most dollhouses but I think it has a lot of character and it turned out to be just what the customer had in mind.
