Acrylic Paintings on Canvas

Over the past few years health issues have stolen away most of my ability to create and I'd reached the point of thinking that my Muse was forever gone when an opportunity to attend a two-hour painting class fell into my lap.  Nutti and I went off thinking that we were just going to kill a couple hours only to discover a whole new passion in painting.  At the instructor's suggestion, we searched You Tube and found a couple of artists who teach painting in a step-by-step fashion.  One is Cinnamon Cooney (the Art Sherpa) and the other is Jane Font (Painting With Jane).  Both ladies are phenomenal artists and instructors but there's something about the way Jane Font teaches that got thru the broken circuitry in my head and made it possible for me to comprehend easily and learn!  The relief of being able to learn something new again has been a true miracle in my life, especially since painting is something I can do even with limited mobility.  All I need is one hand.  So here are the paintings I've done so far....very rough indeed, but I'm still learning all the time!  I'll try to keep updating this page periodically with new paintings as I complete them.  These are in no particular order, so enjoy.

I did three versions of this painting and stopped when I did this one because I'd finally captured the emotions I was trying to convey.

"Mr. Crow Cosplays The Scream"

11x14 stretched canvas

When I first started working on The Scream, I did the background very technically using Munch's colors and brush strokes but it went a little too muddy on me despite using glazing compound so I set it aside without finishing the background and moved on to the ones above.  After I'd finished them, I returned to this and decided that Jane's tutorial for Mr. Crow would make a great mashup, so without ruffling a feather or opening his beak, Mr. Crow screams.
