Please, come inside!

Welcome!!  Welcome to WillowFaire!  We've come at a quiet time of day before the evening's festivities begin.   What will be the entertainment this evening?  One never really knows till the guests arrive.  Perhaps The Beau and Prinny will be in attendance tonight.   Their presence always assures that the company will be lively!

Oh dear, is that a young child you have with you?  I'm very sorry, but the little darling will have to remain outdoors while we take the tour.   Perhaps he would like to visit with the kitties beside the koi pond in the yard?  We'll have Jeffers take some lemonade out to him and keep him company.   I do apologize, but it's for the child's own good that he not come inside.  You see, the art work inside WillowFaire was a legacy to Lady Emma from her late husband, Lord Albert.  His Lordship was quite enamored with the current popularity of nudes.  While he collected truly magnificent pieces from some of the world's greatest artists, they are not for little eyes.

The parlor is where Emma does most of her formal entertaining.  The guests can mingle and have a glass of punch before finding a game of chance, taking a twirl around the dance floor, or meeting someone for a discreet liaison in the lady's lounge.

In addition to being a perfect butler, Jeffers is also a fabulous cook, which is good because Lady Emma sometimes has difficulty in finding the funds to pay a kitchen staff.   As we can see here, Jeffers is quite comfortable with watching both the front door and the pot on the stove.

The spiral staircase in the foyer is truly a thing of beauty.

Upstairs we find a modern marvel--a water closet!  One of Lady Emma's admirers insisted that she allow him to pay for this stylish and practical innovation.

Just around the corner is the lady's lounge.  It's here where the delicate ladies can come to freshen up, although I've heard rumors that this room is also used for romantic trysts.  Only Lucy Fur knows what happens here and she's not telling.

Oh my, some lady has forgotten her reticule on the vanity bench.  We'll give that to Jeffers so he can make sure it's discretely returned to its owner.

On the third floor is the ballroom.  The inlaid parquet floor was a gift to Lady Emma and so was the chandelier.  It's been said that they were gifts from Prinny and the Beau in honor of Willowfaire's grand opening but no one has ever been able to offer proof of that.  Regardless of where they came from, the ballroom is beautiful and elegant from top to bottom.

Here are better views of the floor and the chandelier.  The ceiling is an amazing pyramid style dome covered in gold.  To be invited to a gala ball at Willowfaire means that one must be prepared to dress as ornately as the surroundings so the local dressmakers do a brisk business every time Lady Emma announces that she'll be entertaining.

Thank you for stopping by Willowfaire.  We hope that you enjoyed your visit and that you'll come back to visit us again soon.
